The reMarkable Paper Pro is the most convincing argument I've encountered for replacing paper notebooks entirely. The writing experience is close enough to pen on paper that after a few minutes you stop noticing the difference — which is the only thing that matters for a device like this and the thing every previous e-ink tablet got wrong.

The textured surface creates genuine friction under the stylus in a way that glass-screened tablets can't replicate. Combined with the low latency response, the experience of writing on it is tactile in a way that feels earned rather than simulated. Sketching, note-taking, annotating PDFs — all of it works without the adaptation period that other digital writing surfaces require.
The Focus
No notifications, no apps, no browser. The reMarkable does two things — writing and reading — and does both without distraction. That constraint is a feature, not a limitation. It's the device you reach for when you need to think rather than consume, and having a dedicated tool for that mode of working is more valuable than it sounds.
The Ecosystem
Cloud sync keeps everything accessible across devices without requiring you to be on the reMarkable to access your notes. The folder structure is simple enough that organization happens naturally rather than requiring a system to maintain.
The Verdict
The notebook I stopped losing pages in. If you write by hand to think, this is worth every penny of the asking price.
